Wednesdays can be yucky. Sandwiched between weekends, Wednesdays are just another day to slog through before you can have fun and relax again. There is no better time for a change of pace, a quick pick-me-up to get the second half of your week off to a great start!

Today, why not do something to indulge your inner child? You know…that fun, playful side that you keep repressed most of the time. It could be very satisfying, and it will surely get you out of your midweek funk! Here are a few ideas to bring out the child in you:

  • Practical Jokes: Buy a whoopee cushion, some disappearing ink, or mouth-staining gum, and fool an unsuspecting friend. Just nothing mean, okay?
  • Nostalgic Nosh: Remember Sixlets? How about Juicy Fruit gum? The kid in you will perk right up when your favorite childhood snack hits your tastebuds! Just this once, forget about calories and fat grams, but don’t make a habit of it!
  • Ride a Bike (or a Skateboard): If you spent a lot of time doing this type of exercise as a child, but haven’t done it much lately, you need to give it a try! You’ll be surprised at how exhillarated you feel when you’re zooming around with the wind in your face! Don’t forget protective gear, though!!!
  • Get Dirty: Make some mud pies, or just plant some flowers without worrying about getting grubby. Getting dirty can be a tremendous amount of fun, as long let yourself go and don’t obsess about cleaning up later. Cross that bridge when you come to it!
  • Childhood Games: Nothing will make you feel young again like playing your favorite childhood games. Try Hide & Seek, Follow-the-Leader, Hopscotch, Blind Man’s Bluff, Red-Light-Green-Light, and Simon Says. If you don’t have the time and energy for these more active games, consider playing Tic Tac Toe and Hangman.
